Day 8 - Skye - The Trotternish Peninsular
I started the day with an early planned run. It was very warm and sunny and I took the opportunity to explore some of the side roads.

Today we toured around the Trotternish Peninsula which goes to the very north of the Skye. We started with a stop at the capital of Skye, Portree. Again it was very busy with tourists. We did find somewhere to park but at a cost of £3 for 2 hours but 1 hour was enough. Portree is a pretty little harbour and most of the shops are touristic.

We then did an anti clockwise circular tour of the peninsula which has a
few unusual rock formation. The Old Man of Storr at and the Quiraing
in the north. It was sunny to begin with but clouded over for a couple of hours and then the sun appeared again. Photos below of our various stops. We saw an owl which had a distinctive pattern on its wings. Not sure if it was a Barn Owl. Can anyone identify it?

Isle of Skye Brewery at Uig - we bought a couple of bottles of their beer
Standing Stones - nothing like those on Orkney or Shetland and probably not worth the detour.
We were quite late getting back and it has been a long day. The clouds had lifted over the Cuillin Mountains.

We cooked spag bol and watched the nice sunset over Broadford Bay - even though we are on the east side of the island!
