Day 5 - Glasgow
Today we caught the train into Glasgow. Trains are considerably more affordable and seem more reliable than our local ones.
There is a huge amount of redevelopment going on in the city including George Square which is where the half marathon that I did in 2024, started from.
We had a Wetherspoons breakfast and then got the hop on hop off bus, which was extremely busy. The commentary was very good and it passed most of the main city sights.
The former Pump House, now Clydesdale Distillery
The Squinty Bridge
The Ovo Arena
The Armadillo Auditorium
The People's Palace, Glasgow Green
The Fountain, Glasgow Green
We went for a hot drink after leaving the bus tour and then went to the pedestrian area of Sauchiehall Street before getting the train back.

After a rest we went back to Dumbarton. I walked to the castle but as it is very high on a gigantic rock, it was difficult to photograph. I found the best place was from Lidl's car park!

I went to meet Paul in the pub where we had dinner and went back to the hotel to get ready to move on tomorrow.
