Day 13 - Skye to Badcall Bay
Today's parkrun was Skinadin, not far from our accommodation on Skye. It drizzled for most of the run.
After a quick shower we left our accommodation and drive across the Skye Bridge heading north. Very mixed weather. One minute it is raining heavily, the next the sun is shining and it is really warm.
We headed into some really wild and remote areas with very little traffic. The mountains were often covered in trees and occasionally there were some Scottish Forestry Commission car parks. We stopped at one, about half way called Silver Bridge. We had our lunch then went to see the waterfalls with a short walk along the Black Water River.

Our next stop was Ullapool. We first looked at where we will need to check in for next weeks ferry to Stornaway then walked around the town.
It was very busy but we soon realised there is a Bank Holiday event called 'Lugger Fest' centered around Lugger boats and other sea related themes. Its a small, touristic town but did have a Tesco so we stocked up with food for the next couple of days.

After Ullapool the scenery became very dramatic. There seemed to be a Loch around every corner and the road ran along some very steep sided mountains. We stopped several times at the numerous view point laybys.

Our accommodation for the next 4 nights is in a very remote location called Badcall Bay, overlooking a very rugged coastline and lots of little islands. We are quite high up overlooking a small bay with lots of farm animals around. We have a luxury glamping pod. It looks very small from the outside but seems a lot bigger inside with a shower room, double bed, lounge. kitchen and dining area.
